Founder & President
Emilia Tambwe
Originally from Paris, Emilia graduated in English Law with French law at the University of Westminster. Her dissertation analysed the protection of mothers who are workers in the English and French legal profession. She also holds an LLM in International Business Law from Queen Mary, University of London and is a former dispute paralegal from a Magic Circle law firm. Her interest in empowerment through education motivates her to promote the inclusion of international students in the working environment.

Macey McCann
Having grown up in Houston, TX, Macey McCann found an interest in global affairs from competing internationally in the sport of sailing. She studied Foreign Service at Georgetown University with a focus on international public law and a minor degree in Spanish. For her master’s degree at Cambridge University, she produced guidance about sustainability for companies operating in the Arctic. Her international experiences and passion for global development motivate her to promote diversity and become a lawyer who helps clients achieve commercial and societal goals.

Romina Araghian
Romina joined IFAL out of her passion and determination to increase diversity within the legal sector. She holds an LLB and LLM from Queen Mary University, specialising in corporate and international law. As an ethnic woman, despite being a British citizen, working in the legal industry has presented her with a number of hurdles and difficulties when trying to get her foot in the door, and therefore, can only imagine how much harder it is for international students. Her goal is to use her experience and skills to help path the way for others.

Sirma Gulan
Born and raised in Istanbul, Sirma is a turkish-native law graduate from UCL. She is also a current in-house paralegal. As an international student herself, she is passionate about meeting people from diverse backgrounds who share similar stories of the hidden issues faced by non-local students abroad. She is also an aspiring corporate solicitor.

Head of Diversity and Inclusion
Cindy Zheng
Originally from Hong Kong, Cindy graduated from an LLM in International Business law at the University of Durham. As an international student, she has a deep interest into the inclusion of international students in higher education and the job market. She is currently a Legal Operation Analyst at a Magic Circle law firm. As the head of Diversity & Inclusion, she is responsible for the writing of a report about D&I for international students.

Head of Commercial Awareness & Research
Diebo R.Gillis-Harry
Graduated with an LLB law degree from the University of Birmingham and an LLM in International Corporate Governance & Financial Regulation, Diebo is also a Nigerian Qualified lawyer. During his degree, his passion for global competition law pushed him to analyse whether voluntary codes and other soft law principles are the best way to incentivise and increase the quality of ownership engagement by today’s Institutional Investors. His background as a former international student, coupled with his goal to become an international commercial lawyer, is precisely what motivated him to join IFAL and support its overall aim to advocate for more diversity and inclusion, especially within the UK’s legal sector. He is also a trustee in Nigerian charities.
